Finding your way in troubled times

Vacancy for supervisor

We are looking for an experienced UKCP registered practitioner with an interest in offering small group supervision (3 – 4 members).  We are currently seeking applicants who can offer a Monday evening, and request that supervisors are willing to commit to a minimum of two years with the Organisation.

Applicants would need a minimum of 4 - 5 years post counselling/psychotherapy qualification experience and ideally have completed a diploma in supervision, although those currently in an appropriate supervision training would be considered.

Our supervisees come from a range of training backgrounds from within the humanistic tradition, (mainly Integrative, but also Gestalt, and Person Centred).  Experience ranges from 2nd year trainees to some qualified therapists.  Whatever the modality of the supervisor, an ability to offer clinical supervision that can support the eclectic mix of training backgrounds is essential.

We offer a supportive and professional environment.  Groups are held weekly for two hours at our premises.  Remuneration is currently under review, and whilst we are a charity-based organisation, we would want to appropriately recognise the professional skills and input that our Supervisors bring to the service.  In the first instance please email Sunita at Sandhurst Counselling Service with your CV and availability.  You are also welcome to call for further information on the number listed above.

Sandhurst Counselling Service is a community-based counselling service which celebrates its 30th year in 2020. With around 21 practitioners – both counsellors and psychotherapists in training – and 3 supervisors, we support a diverse adult only client group who arrive through various routes – Self, GP and IAPT Referrals – and often includes more complex presentations.  We offer open-ended counselling /psychotherapy which allows each client the space and time to address their often deeply seated issues as well as offering our trainee colleagues the opportunity to take their clients through a full process without externally applied restrictions.
